Jamaluddin Bakri

Jamaluddin Bakri was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of Ekuiti Nasional Berhad (Ekuinas) on 1 July 2025.

Jamaluddin is a seasoned human capital and business leader with over 30 years’ experience in driving organisational transformation and people strategy across diverse industries, including financial services, healthcare, and technology. He has held senior leadership positions in both multinational corporations and leading Malaysian institutions, with a strong track record in aligning people strategies with business goals and driving enterprise-wide change.

He began his career at PETRONAS, as a trainee engineer on offshore exploration rigs, before joining Tioxide, a titanium dioxide plant under the ICI Group, as part of its Engineering Commissioning team.  He later transitioned into human resources, which became the foundation of his career.

At Microsoft, he held several senior regional and global HR leadership roles across Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing and Seattle, including Regional HR Director for South Asia and Greater China, and Asia Regional HR Director for HR Services.

Jamaluddin went on to serve as Group Head of Human Resources at IHH Healthcare, based in Singapore, overseeing the Group’s global HR function. He later returned to Malaysia to assume the role of Group Chief Human Resource Officer at RHB Banking Group, where he led strategic HR initiatives, workforce transformation and leadership development.

Jamaluddin holds an MBA in Human Resources from the University of Hull, United Kingdom, following an undergraduate qualification in Mechanical Engineering and a certification in Drilling & Workover Technology. He is a certified Executive Coach and was named HR Leader of the Year by Human Resources Online in 2018.
